Free XD. 45 and question?
 

I probably have the best friend in the world. This guy taught me organic farming, bee keeping, and lots of other skills. He's 51 and I'm in my thirties, but he's like a brother. Anyway, he found out that I was saving up for .45, but didn't have all the money. So, I went down to his neck of the woods, as we live in different cities now to visit for my Girl friend's mother's graduation. To make a long story short he gave me a brand new XD .45 and took me to the range, showed how to reload and offered me his old reloading kit. Man, I was in tears!! The only thing he said was " You know things are Fuc*ed up when you're giving (Buying) your friends guns. End of discussion, let's go to the range.

SO NOW MY QUESTION?

What should I do with the money I was saving for the Glock 21? My choices as I see them are:

1. add little cash buy ,870 Remington Shot gun

2. add little cash buy, AR 15

3. " " Back up revolver, probably .357 or 44.

4. Food preps ( None yet)

5. " " Gold coin or Silver coins ( One gold several silver)

6. " " Sleeping Bags and tent

7. Any suggestion GIMers!!!!

We don't currently have an Assault Rifle ban on the books and once ObamaHilarmonster takes office this will be "fixed" in their eyes quickly. So buy it while you still can.

I said the hell with an AK-47 and I am saving for an AR-15 now. Have $340 saved and am selling a couple iPhones I got for $250 a piece on eBay for hopefully another $300ish in profits to go towards the AR.

I see a lot of hate towards ARs though so I am not 100% sure this is what my final choice will be.

Georgie did lift the assault weapon ban. It is the one and only thing I give the bastard credit for.

I believe Clinton's assault rifle ban went away by itself. It was set to sunset if congress did not act to renew.

He didn't lift anything.
It expired.
He was quoted as saying that if congress put it on his desk for renewal, he would sign it, but there wasn't political will to do so since it cost the dems the congress when they pushed it through in the first place.

I would recommend doing something kind for your friend to show your appreciation. No amount of preps will ever suffice.

Yeah, a lot of people have suggested that I do something nice for my friend. i would but he wouldn't want it or like that. He's that type of guy. I think he would feel offended by that! Plus he has everything he would want already. Seriously, he's not your everyday kind of guy. Me going to the range and being a good shot would be a gift for him, he really would dig that. Hummm!!

Sorry to dash your last vestige of something good to think about him. As I recall, Congress let it sunset. I believe good ole Georgie said he would sign it if Congress reauthorized it.

The best repayment you can give a friend like that is ... to listen. He didn't give you that because he wanted repaid. He gave it to you because he thought you needed it now ... not in the few more months it would have taken you to save up the rest. Repay him by making sure it's not sitting in a box under your bed when you need it. Make sure it doesn't have an empty mag.

Tell him you've been saving for the gun, offer to pay him for the 45 which he will most likely reject and then ask him what he thinks you should do with the money. It sounds like he's got a good head on his shoulders. He most likely has some great ideas.

Since he likes to shoot and would be pleased to see you take an interest, Why not sign the both of you up for a weekend course at Gunsite or some other training facility that you can go have a great weekend together and get some skills in the process. If that is too expensive, then buy some amo and go to the range together - and get some food preps and a bug-out bag gear.

Send him a CD from Charlie Daniels Band called 'Same Old Me'. Put that and a card in his hands and thank him sincerely for what he's done.

For your money? Extra mags and probably at least 1000 brass cases, 10k primers, 10k bullets (or perhaps a mold to make your own) and at least enough powder to load 10k rounds. It WILL show how much you appreciate his gift. By following through on the path he put you on.

Being 55, I've got two friends in their thirties. I see both of them as 'younger brothers' more than anything else. I've loaned both of them money and told them to 'pay me back' when they could. They both did. WITH INTEREST. Which I tried to refuse. They both basically said they had learned more from me than they could have ever learned at ANY school.

THAT'S WHAT YOU NEED TO GIVE YOUR FRIEND IN RETURN. FRIENDSHIP. Which it appears you already do.

Just a 55 year old guys opinion who's been down this road before.

And why is Bush a bastard? Because he's fighting a war against islam? Plus he didn't get rid of the assault weapons ban. There was a 10 year sunset imposed when that asshole clinton signed it into law.
